A gift in your Will can be the single most valuable donation you make. Making or amending your Will to leave a gift to Crossgate Church is one of the kindest gestures you could ever make. It’s easy to arrange with the help of a solicitor, and needn’t cost a lot of money.

When your Will has been completed it should be kept in a safe place. Your solicitor’s office or local bank may be able to facilitate this. It is also important to ensure that someone you trust and the person you select as an executor of your will is informed of its whereabouts.

This is where you can leave a gift of any type for the use of Crossgate Church.

The suggested wordings of a bequest of this nature would be similar to the below:
‘I give to Crossgate Church of Benchmark, 25 Ribbleton Street, Preston. PR1 5BA, registered charity number 1119350, absolutely (write in here whatever you wish to give) for the purpose  Crossgate Church, and I declare that the receipt of their Executive pastor or other proper officer shall be a full and sufficient discharge.’

Pecunirary Gift

Also known as a cash gift, this is where you can leave an exact sum of money to Crossgate Church.

The suggested wordings of a bequest of this nature would be similar to the below:
‘I give free of tax to Crossgate Church of Benchmark, 25 Ribbleton Street, Preston, PR1 5BA, registered charity number 1119350, the sum of £________ for the purposes of Crossgate Church, and I declare that the receipt of their Chief Financial Officer or other proper officer shall be a full and sufficient discharge.’

Gift In Trust

You can leave a gift for someone to use over a period of time. When the time has ended, the gift can be passed on to other recipients, such as a Crossgate Church.

A bequest to us will be used to pursue the primary objectives as set out by our trust deed:

1. The advancement of Christian Faith.
2. The relief of persons who are in conditions of need, hardship or distress or who are aged or sick.
3. The advancement of education on the basis of Christian principles
